Amazon Web Services is quietly backing Superblocks, a vibe-coding startup whose apps will integrate with Amazon Bedrock — putting AI-generated business applications under enterprise IT management instead of leaving them as rogue tools.
The Partnership
TechCrunch reported on August 3 that AWS is helping Superblocks sell to enterprises through its Marketplace, and that Superblocks apps will hook into Bedrock, Amazon's AI development and inference platform. Co-founder and CEO Brad Menezes said the result is that data stays inside the customer's private cloud: "It's their AWS account and basically secure with all of the auditing, all of the encryption, all of the network controls."
"We support partners where we see strong customer demand and alignment with how customers want to build," an AWS spokesperson told TechCrunch. Notably, AWS does not yet have its own vibe-coding agent for business users — it has Kiro, an AI coding agent for developers, and Quick, an AI assistant for business users, but nothing aimed directly at the no-code app-builder crowd.
The Startup
Superblocks is early-stage: about 50 employees and a total of $60 million raised as of its Series A in May 2025, backed by Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, and Greenoaks. The AWS endorsement is a big distribution boost for a small team.
Why It Matters
This is part of a broader power struggle. Hyperscalers like AWS, Microsoft, and Google want enterprises to buy the full stack around AI — agentic apps, orchestration, security — from them, rather than from frontier labs. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has spent weeks telling customers to run multiple models to avoid lock-in, warning that labs may study a business's data and later compete with it. Enterprises appear to be listening: many have already adopted multiple models, including open-weight options from Chinese labs. Superblocks shows how that multi-model world gets built — one AWS integration at a time.
