Cybersecurity startup Horizon3 has raised $250 million in a Series E at a $2 billion valuation, TechCrunch and SecurityWeek reported. The round is one of the largest dedicated cybersecurity financings of the year and reflects how AI-driven threats are reshaping enterprise security buying.

What Horizon3 Does

Horizon3 sells a continuous, AI-powered security-validation platform that probes customer environments the way an attacker would. Unlike traditional pen testing, which runs annually and produces a static report, Horizon3's product runs continuously, prioritizes findings by exploitability, and shows customers exactly how to fix the most dangerous gaps. Customers include Fortune 500s in financial services, healthcare, and government.

"Cybersecurity startup Horizon3 raised $250 million at a $2 billion valuation as companies want continuous, AI-powered security validation instead of annual pen testing," TechCrunch wrote.

Why the Round Is Big

Three forces converged: AI-generated phishing has raised the volume and quality of attacks, several high-profile breaches (including the US water-system attacks this month) have made boards more willing to spend on security, and the traditional pen-testing model has not kept up with the speed at which attackers now move. The Series E values Horizon3 at roughly 25x ARR, in line with other high-growth security companies.

How It Will Be Used

The $250 million will fund international expansion, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, and the build-out of an AI red-team service that uses Horizon3's platform to simulate autonomous attacker agents. The company is also hiring aggressively across engineering, security research, and customer success. Horizon3 has not yet announced an IPO timeline, but investors say the company is now large enough to consider public markets within 18-24 months.
