Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 this fall, developer Cold Iron Studios and publisher Daybreak Game Company confirmed on August 7 via a new cooperative gameplay trailer, Gematsu reported. The Switch 2 version arrives after the game's multi-platform launch, with reports indicating it was added by popular demand following community feedback — changing the studio's launch plans just before release.

Launch Windows

The third-person co-op shooter launches August 25, 2026 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch 2 version is slated for autumn 2026, with no exact date yet specified.

Bigger Squads, Smarter Xenomorphs

Up to four players — up from three in the 2021 original — take on the role of Colonial Marines fighting Xenomorphs in a survival-focused co-op experience. The sequel includes deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, a fully customizable Specialist class, a horde-style swarm mode and new weapons and gear customization, making it one of the most anticipated co-op shooters of the late-summer release window.
